Fantastic Watch with an In-House Movment
"This is definitely what I would say is on the "sporty side" of dive watches. I'll start from the least favorite aspect and go to the best. I got it on the black rubber strap because I don't ever intend on wearing it on a bracelet. The strap it comes with is pretty decent and isn't much of a dust collector but I've never been a fan of the ridged dive strap anyway so it was replaced immediately. Overall it's a good strap though so don't toss it. Next is the crystal and for this price some other brands do a sapphire crystal but it's not a deal breaker and I bought it knowing this. Not horrible at all. The size is just about perfect for wear on the rubber strap it came with and the one I bought, and aids in the sporty look and does not feel too big in that instance. For people that like bigger watches this will do it for sure. The movement is an in-house Orient movement; Caliber F6922 Automatic which as advertised hacks and hand-winds and has a day/date complication. It is not noisy and keeps pretty great time out of the box which is amazing. The oddity about this movement is that it sets "backwards" from every other watch (in the Epson brand), as the day and date set normally but to set the hands, you rotate the crown back towards you or counter clockwise if you were looking at the crown straight on. It's very strange for sure but also a sort of fun change which I do not mind at all. Lastly, the bezel, bezel insert, and dial and hands are fantastic. Everything fits well, such as the fonts and font size which matches and compliments everything else regarding the size and the look at all once. I don't know how else to explain it, the look just works. The Orient logo is a tad busy but I don't care and personally like the logo myself. The sword hands look great and the black dial with markers are just great looking, easy to read, and make this watch such a great piece to wear. It's pretty much my every day watch at this point especially right now during these warmer months heading into summer and I can see that I am going to have this one for a while. I may go after the "Mako Chrono" at some point but for this, this is a fantastic piece you cannot go wrong with."
