The Cayenne - the Latest Orient Chronograph is a Scorcher

Undoubtedly one of the most photogenic watch timepieces from Orient, the brand new Cayenne model will not cease to amaze.  Impeccable design and solid build quality make it a contender against the famed Tag Heuer Day-Date Carrera Chronograph. Equipped with a highly accurate Orient quartz movement, this is one chronograph that you don’t want to overlook this holiday season. That being said, we are delighted to introduce the Orient Cayenne (TT0Q).

In all of its elegance and regality, just the dial itself speaks volumes. The combination of different elements creates a rich texture which contributes to its astonishing aesthetic. The Cayenne features a primarily black dial with stainless bar indices with bright luminous material on each bar. On the right side is a curved date bar that is framed with a single, curved, decorated stainless steel piece. This piece fits perfectly with the chronograph sub-dials which employ subtle, but different guilloche-style finishes. The Cayenne has three sub-dials – one for the seconds, one for milliseconds, and one that displays the hour and minutes. The milliseconds and hour/minute sub-dials are a part of the chronograph feature. The hours/minutes really just take timekeeping further. It’s truly dazzling to watch the long seconds hand work in unison with the milliseconds sub-dial—the mark of a truly complete chronograph. A tachymeter is also seen in the chapter ring. The dial of the Cayenne is surrounded by a smooth, matte black uni-directional bezel that bears a teeth-like design all the way around.

The case is full stainless steel that is brushed along the lugs, and on the case back. The crown is at the three o’clock position and the pushers for the chronograph are at two and four o’clock. Measuring in at 45mm in diameter (without crown) and nearly 12mm thick, with 24mm lugs, this is a large prominent watch. No worry though –even on an average-sized wrist, it is not overbearing. The range of color contrast on each model really works well to make the piece pop. The Cayenne comes on an Orient rubber strap or stainless steel bracelet. The strap has a kind of embossed studded design that makes the strap very comfortable and adds a bit more dimension to the watch. The bracelet features a rich brushed/polished look that adds to the already complex texture seen in the case.

In all, the Cayenne chronograph is a handsome but aggressive contemporary time piece that is highly accurate and well-designed. At only $365 (and $255 after our 30% off promotion), the price clearly understates the quality, craftsmanship and look of the Cayenne. And as always, you’re getting a lot of watch for little money from Orient.
