New week, new TriStar. The Vega collection gets its name from the third star of the “Summer Triangle”. The Altair, Deneb and Vega stars might be from different constellations, but the three of them comprise the “Summer Triangle” that is visible in the sky around this time of the year (late autumn).
When we look at the Vega, we see an elevated, elegant sport-inspired watch. This is based on the sunburst dial, the fully lumed hour markers and spear-shaped hands, and the 60 second/minute counter on the flange. There is one other dial variation with Arabic Numerals, and like the it too features a day and date display at the three o’clock position. This is the kind of reliable watch that can be worn every day with nearly anything.
The Vega measures at 40mm across without the crown and just 11.2mm thick. A sophisticated mix of metallic finishes differentiates the Vega from your run of the mill sport watches: from the polished bezel all the way down to the brushed lugs. The sides of the case are polished while the case back and the bracelet are brushed steel. The Vega is powered by our workhorse automatic caliber F4902 which is the same movement that runs the Deneb. It takes over for the venerated caliber 469 (capping an over 60-year run), but this time with a quickset for both the day and date.
Like the TriStar collections that came before, the Vega series spans multiple variations, including seven dial colors, two case tones, and two dial variations.
