Too long has Orient’s diver series been devoid of a crisp yellow dialed watch. Since the days of the discontinued Yellow Mako, Orient fans have been hoping they’d see something as iconic. The newest model from the Orient M-force collection comes in the form of the Orient M-Force SEL03005Y0 Air Diver. We released the SEL03004B0 a few weeks ago to great success.
The M-Force Air Diver is no stranger to rugged design and essential functions and is worthy of contributing to the rich M-Force heritage. The SEL03005Y features a bright yellow dial which is very unique to the M-Force line (and all watches in general). The dial is very easy to read; it comes complete with luminescent hour markers and hands. The offset power reserve indicator hand also featured luminescent material as well. The stainless steel bezel maintains precision at 120 clicks and is very legible due to the stark black and white contrast.
The case measures at 46mm wide and 13.3mm thick. This is due in part to the implementation of Orient’s own special structure which has earned this watch ISO certification in three areas: water resistance (200m), shock resistance and anti-magnetism. The structure increases the shock resistance of the case in order to continually keep accurate time. The movement in the EL03005Y is self-winding, hand winding and hacking (wherein the seconds hand will stop when the crown is put in its second position). The M-Force Air Diver comes conveniently mounted with an Orient branded urethane strap for flexibility and comfort. We’ve said time and time again that this is perhaps the most comfortable rubber strap from Orient.
The SEL03005Y retails at $560, but using code ‘airdiver30’ at checkout drops the price significantly to $392, which is a bargain for an ISO certified watch.
