Stuck on a gift for Valentine's Day? Here's some top picks to help you choose the perfect gift

Guys, we all know that Valentine’s Day is quickly approaching, and getting gifts for our significant other is as hard as figuring out where to take them for dinner. Got big plans for 14th but don’t want it to burn a hole in your pocket? Orient has got you covered.

Here’s what we recommend at under $200 (after 30% off using code 'valentines30'):

These are the trio (Symphony, Bambino, Capital, shown above) of dress watches that have received much praise. Where else can you get a complete dress watch for under $200? Orient made it possible.  The Bambino (ER24) and Capital (UG1R) both feature domed crystals that actually lift up from the case. This creates a kind of sandwich dial that is soft on the eyes, especially when paired with a stainless steel case. All three are available in rose-gold tone and the Capital is also offered in gold-tone for a retro look. One thing to note is that the Capital is quartz instead of mechanical, like the Bambino and Symphony. The Symphony (ER27) is perhaps the most modern of the three and we feel that it is the perfect mix of classic and contemporary. Instead of a domed crystal, a very fulfilling flat crystal was used to give the Symphony that kind of timeless look. Though it does look like a dressy watch, it can be worn more casually; especially through a simple strap swap. Though classic watches are traditionally smaller, all three watches could be this generation’s iteration of the classic watch considering that the average watch size has gotten bigger (and bigger!).

A list of affordable watches from Orient wouldn’t complete without the quintessential divers: the Mako and Ray (EM65). Both are similar, but different in numerous ways. From the dial, to the hands to the bracelets, there are reasons why the Mako and Ray have been the undisputed top sellers for Orient. Featuring 200m water resistance and a unidirectional bezel, the divers also house the perennial 469 caliber movement. Did we also mention that the lume is awesome on these?

We really can’t qualify which part of the Defender  (left)our customers love most. Is it because they love the fact that they come in three unique colors? Or could it be the impressive blasted stainless steel cases? Whatever it is, the Defender has been continually gaining popular and rapport with our customers. We say it’s the perfect lazy day/casual watch that money can buy.

In late 2012 we introduced the Starfish line (right). It’s been touted as a no frills watch that simply does what its supposed to do: tell time with the utmost accuracy. We highly recommend this watch as a gift for those that enjoy a simple watch that doesn’t exude extravagance like some other watches on the market. A minimalist watch on leather band. And at under $200, it’s a ton of watch for very little money.

Think your loved one is deserving of something more expensive? Here’s what we recommend at above $200 (after 30% off using code 'valentines30'):

The Disk model (ER02) (left)has been wildly popular in Japan, and has gained much notoriety here in the states. The Disk features a unique cutout triangle design in place of the hour hand. Paired with cutout bar indices and ever changing color, Orient was really flexing its creative muscle. The Disk comes in a variety of single colors, ending in a subtle rainbow colored model.

As with the Bambino and Symphony, the Vintage (FD0F) (center)is a classic looking watch. Orient really put in the attention to detail on the dial: the Vintage features a textured guilloche dial that is paired with sharp, contrasting hands. Leather models come with a special deployment clasp. A must for those who spend their day at the office.

The Explorer (DH00) (right) has been a top seller for a while among travelers and businessmen. With a GMT function that allows the wearer to view two time zones at once and a slide rule that lets you calculate things on the fly, the Explorer is the perfect tool watch for those who are going abroad. Throw in two sapphire crystals (the case back is exhibition), you’ve got one hell of a watch for $455.
