In a season filled with open heart watch releases (so much so that we covered its history here), we’re excited to reveal just one more. It isn’t an entirely new model, though. Following the 2nd generation renditions of the Mako and Bambino series, yet another classic collection has been updated. The 2nd Generation Esteem has just arrived, sporting the new mechanical caliber F6T22 and offered in three distinct colorways.
Along with the aforementioned collections, the Esteem has been a stalwart in the Orient collection and is arguably our most popular open heart model to date. The simplicity of three hands, a slightly domed crystal, and a quaint display set it apart from other vintage-styled watches in our collection, especially from a design and functional perspective. This new 2nd Generation rendition didn’t make any notable departures from the original design, apart from the fact that the lineup exclusively consists of Arabic numeral dials.
Dimension-wise, it has pretty much stayed consistent with the original, at 41mm wide. However, the thickness has been lifted to 12.3mm (from 11.9mm). This is due in part to the addition of an exhibition case back, a feature missing on the original. The 2nd Generation Esteem will be offered in White, Bone (Off White), and Blue.
