As we’ve mentioned before, a new era of Orient Watch has begun, beginning with the standardization of an automatic, hand-wound, and hacking movement across the all collections and new models. It just so happens that the Sun and Moon is next in line for that upgrade: we’re pleased to announce the Sun and Moon Version 3.
If you’re wondering how we could ever improve upon the Sun and Moon, let alone the Version 2, we’re with you. Aside from the insertion of our new caliber F6B24, aesthetically, there are a few subtle differences:
A visual comparison: On the left, the Sun and Moon Version 2. On the right, the new Version 3
The day and sun and moon sub-registers of the Version 3 have been shifted to be concentrated on the left two-thirds of the dial. Additionally, the print of the Roman numeral hour numbers has been lifted, making them appear a tad larger and bolder. The dial conveys the same level of depth as the previous version; however the concentric and guilloche detailing seem to be more pronounced and crisp. In short, the Sun and Moon Version 3 picked up where it’s predecessor left off, and became even more refined.
Dimensions-wise, the Version 3 has remained unchanged. It still sits at 42.5mm across, and 14mm thick. (which is attributed to its domed sapphire crystal). It’s available in Rose, White, Chocolate, Black, and Navy.
